From Theory to Practice: Implementing the CHILD Project,o and learn from the other studies in the CHILD Project. In a Piagetian sense, we were asking each study to begin the process of decentring in order to understand more about the other studies in the CHILD Project. In this chapter we discuss how these rituals evolved in response to various challenges in different phases of the project.

Lessons in University-Community Collaboration,participated on the CHILD Executive Committee and in all report-writing (i.e., Milestone Reports, CHILD. Reports, Cluster Reports), presentations (CHILD Learning Forums), and on the CHILD Executive Committee.

Conclusions and New Beginnings: What We Have Learned about the Rules, Rituals, and Realities of Intthis series to “open up new spaces for dialogue and reconceptualization” (Palgrave Press Brochure, 2010). In this chapter we discuss why this book will open an intellectual space where the reconceptualist and the interdisciplinary perspectives can inform and complement one another.

Lessons from Community-University Partnerships with First Nations,HDP, partnered with Aboriginal HIPPY Canada (the national office of an early education program) and five on-reserve First Nations communities to conduct the AHDP. Both studies ran from 2003 to 2007 and involved multiple Indigenous community partners with an interest in promoting children’s development.
