Studies on the Medial Reticular Formation during Locomotion in Chronic Cats Using Microstimulation ats have now been extended to intact cats chronically implanted with EMG electrodes, and have been supplemented by single unit recordings of identified reticulospinal neurons from the same preparation.

Reticular Formation Stimulation Evokes Walking and Flying in Birds Acute spinalized chicks will also make stepping movements in response to electrical stimulation of the lateral white matter of the transected cervical cord (Jacobson & Hollyday, 1982).
