Micromachined Flow-Through Measurement Chambers Using LAPS Chemical Sensors,s are made by anisotropically etching channels in silicon, at the bottom of which one or more LAPS devices are defined. Eight separate flow channels are present on a 23 mm square chip. Data is presented on two types of biological components: enzymes and living cells.

Microanalysis Systems for Gases,ation about gas mixtures or odours are discussed. Micromachining can e.g. be used to create a temperature gradient along a sensor array. Furthermore, continuous sensing surfaces with a spatially resolved detection principle provide new possibilities regarding the microanalysis of gases.

,Bonding and Assembling Methods for Realising a µTAS,multi-level glass-silicon stacks. The anodic bonding using intermediate glass thin layer was also very useful for constructing silicon stacks. The required condition and the mechanism of this bonding were studied. A microconnector and a separable channel type microvalve useful in a µTAS are also described.
