描述.Memory: Interdisciplinary Approaches. arrays the most current research and thinking on the cognitive, social, and neural aspects of memory. An international group of experts discusses the domains of working memory and the modularity of storage processes while other contributors examine the social and developmental consequences of memory. This volume represents the most comprehensive reviews of "frontline" memory work to date. This collection is based on the first series of G. Stanley Hall Lectures sponsored by Williams College.

Memory: Conscious and Unconsciousble. I assert, though, that an understanding of the functions of consciousness is important for a complete cognitive psychology. My explorations of consciousness are offered, in part, to convince the cognitive community that it should try to come to grips with the problem.

Social Memory and Social Judgment whose work is guided by the specific phenomenon they consider important regardless of the label that someone else wishes to assign to it. Perhaps another source of my irritation at being asked the question is that I have never heard a very good answer to it, and have been frustrated in trying to come up with an answer myself.

Three Catechisms for Social Memoryn met through social exchanges. It is reasonable to assume, then, that the human cognitive system has evolved to accommodate this social reality. Memory structures and mechanisms, along with their neurological substrata, must be capable of dealing with (as well as drawing upon) the social agents in their environment.

The Uses of Working Memorylutionist question, “What is STM for?” I would like to describe some of the results of our pursuit, and to emphasize that it continues to be useful to bear in mind the question of evolutionary value in investigating the many phenomena that have been revealed by recent research on human memory.
