描述.Focusingon five main groups of interdisciplinary problems, this book covers a widerange of topics in mathematical modeling, computational science and appliedmathematics. It presents a wealth of new results in the development of modelingtheories and methods, advancing diverse areas of applications and promotinginterdisciplinary interactions between mathematicians, scientists, engineersand representatives from other disciplines..Thebook offers a valuable source of methods, ideas, and tools developed for avariety of disciplines, including the natural and social sciences, medicine, engineering, and technology. Original results are presented on both thefundamental and applied level, accompanied by an ample number of real-worldproblems and examples emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature and universalityof mathematical modeling, and providing an excellent outline of today’schallenges. Mathematical modeling, with applied and computational methods and tools, plays a fundamental role inmodern science and engineering. It provides a primary and ubiquitous tool inthe context making new discoveries, as well as in the development of newtheories and techniques for solving key problems arising in

On the Problem of Similar Motions of a Chain of Coupled Heavy Rigid Bodiesass of particular solutions of the equations of chain’s motion. The new class describes the chain’s motions under which all bodies move similar to each other. We establish conditions for existence of the new solutions and show how the equations of motion can be reduced to quadratures in the case when these conditions are fulfilled.

Molecular-Dynamics Simulations Using Spatial Decomposition and Task-Based Parallelismes the spatial decomposition method using message passing with a task-based, threaded approach for the parallelization of the workload. Benchmark simulations on a multi-core system and an Intel Xeon Phi co-processor show that the hybrid algorithm provides better performances than the message-passing or threaded approaches alone.

Homoclinic Structure for a Generalized Davey-Stewartson System three coupled nonlinear equations and describes (2 + 1) dimensional wave propagation in a bulk medium composed of an elastic material with coupled stresses. We first provide linearized stability analysis of the plane wave solutions of the generalized Davey-Stewartson system. Then, give an analytic

Numerical Simulations of the Dynamics of Vortex Rossby Waves on a Beta-Planeffect the structure and intensity of the hurricane. These disturbances may be described as vortex Rossby waves. It has been suggested that vortex Rossby waves may play a role in the eyewall replacement cycle observed in tropical cyclones in which concentric rings of high-intensity wind develop and p
