An Evolutionary Based Approach for the Traffic Lights Optimization Problemverage trip duration, total waiting time etc. For this problem, we present an evolutionary based heuristic approach. We use a simulation model on the basis of the SUMO modeling system to evaluate the quality of obtained solutions. The results of numerical experiments on real data confirm the efficiency of the proposed approach.

Variable Neighborhood Search for the Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problemon standard RCPSP test dataset j120 from the PCPLIB library demonstrated that the proposed algorithm produces better results than existing algorithms in the literature for large-sized instances. For some instances from the dataset j120 the best known heuristic solutions were improved.

On the Thinnest Covering of Fixed Size Containers with Non-euclidean Metric by Incongruent Circlescal algorithm is suggested and implemented. It based on optical-geometric approach, which is developed by the authors in recent years and previously used only for circles of the equal radius. The results of a computational experiment are presented and discussed.
