Remote Multicast Monitoring Using the RTP MIBication level monitoring to assess the performance of multicast-capable infrastructure. The architecture makes use of standards-based management technologies and allows both active and passive monitoring. The implementation has been tested extensively and provides a network operator with a network-wide view of multicast performance.

Active Technology as an Efficient Approach to Control DiffServ Networks: The DACA Architectureentation is already implemented in DiffServ nodes. In this work, we suppose that DiffServ nodes offer an API with a minimum number of control functions. Based on this assumption, the proposed solution introduces a new control architecture to configure and control these nodes in a customized and flexible manner.

A Scalable Video Server Using Intelligent Network Attached Storagedesign our admission control and stream scheduling strategies, and conduct some simulation experiments to optimize the system design. The simulation results exhibit a near linear scalability of system performance with our design. Some implementation issues are also discussed in this paper.

On Proxy-Caching Mechanisms for Cooperative Video Streaming in Heterogeneous Environments Each proxy communicates with the others and takes the transfer delay and video quality into account in finding the appropriate block for retrieval. We propose several caching mechanisms for the video-streaming system and evaluate their performance in terms of the required buffer size, the play-back delay, and the video quality.

Efficient Implementation of Packet Scheduling Algorithm on High-Speed Programmable Network Processor HILQ substantially reduces the number of memory accesses by scattering packets sparsely into the queue. Experimental results demonstrate improved scalability compared to a heap-based implementation in supporting thousands of streams with strict real-time constraints, while causing no loss in accuracy compared to the standard DWCS algorithm.
