Effect of Ca on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties in Mg Alloysbasal and pyramidal I planes. We try different alloy compositions in order to understand the solid-solution effect on the different stacking faults and reduce the high plastic anisotropy in Mg alloys mechanical properties.

Investigation of Grain Refinement Method for AZ91 Alloy Using Carbide Inoculationtrusion; it demonstrated a uniform structure with well distributed SiC particles on the Al metal matrix. After adding 0.7 wt% extruded SiC refiner, the average grain size of AZ91 alloy decreased from 550 to 90 μm. It demonstrated an effective refining ability in large-scale casting facilities.

Strengthening and Toughening Behaviors of the Mg–9Al Alloy Containing Oxygen Atomss along the weak interface of β-phase in the Mg–9Al alloy. On the other hand, the β-phase disturbs the crack propagation route in the Mg–O–9Al alloy, showing many broken β-phases. Therefore, the improved interfacial feature with an addition of dissolved oxygen atoms in the Mg–O–9Al alloy results in much enhanced mechanical properties.

Ni-P-MWNTs Composite Coatings on Magnesium Alloys AZ31 Part 1: MWNTs Content in Coatingand X-ray diffraction). The results show that the prepared Ni-P-MWNTs coating is uniform and compact. The relationship among the concentration of surfactant DTAB, the concentration of MWNTs in bath and coating were analyzed.

Towards Active Corrosion Protection of Mg Alloys Using Corrosion Inhibition ApproachesThe high susceptibility of Mg alloys to corrosive degradation is calling for new efficient corrosion protection solutions. In the present paper we discuss the approach based on the introduction of new generation of corrosion inhibitors into the composite protective coatings aiming at an additional active corrosion protection.
