On the Overlap Between Grad-CAM Saliency Maps and Explainable Visual Features in Skin Cancer Imageshich is almost 50% of the performance of state-of-the-art architectures specialized in feature mask prediction at pixel-level, such as U-Net. Finally, a breakdown test between malignancy and classification correctness shows that higher resolution saliency maps could help doctors in spotting wrong classifications.

Reliable AI Through SVDD and Rule Extraction,lems such as parameter tuning and handling large data sets. Also, intelligible analytics for knowledge extraction with rules is presented: it is targeted to understand safety regions of system parameters. Results are shown by feeding data through simulation to the train of different rule extraction mechanisms.

Anomaly Detection for Skin Lesion Images Using Replicator Neural Networks,d three discrimination methods: feature vector distance, replicator neural networks, and support vector data description fine-tuning. Results show that neural-based detectors can perfectly discriminate between skin lesions and open world images, but class discrimination cannot easily be accomplished and requires further investigation.
