Fetal Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Wall Anomalies, liver, inferior vena cava (being located on the fetal right side). MRI is useful to differentiate small from large bowel and hence it is complementary to sonography in confirming bowel atresias. MRI is also useful in characterizing hepatic pathologies and intraabdominal cysts.

Introduction and Indications for Fetal MRI,limitations like inability to image a large field of view (FOV), limited contrast resolution, inability to differentiate hemorrhage from fluids, poor acoustic window in advanced pregnancy, and obesity. MRI is the preferred alternative modality for fetal imaging when there are limitations on sonography and when the findings are inconclusive [1].
