Theoretical Investigation of the Kinetics of Chemical LasersThis paper is concerned with some aspects of the theory of chemical lasers. Mathematical models are developed for processes occurring in H. +F. and D. +F. +CO. mixtures. A detailed analysis is made of the influence of various factors on the population inversion.

Desired Parameters of Laser Systemser is one with a series-parallel amplifier system [13], whose output energy is ~600 J in the form of light pulses of ~2 nsec duration. Further development of such lasers seems to be the most promising way of constructing laser systems for heating plasmas in order to achieve controlled fusion.

This system has been considered for a thermonuclear plasma [18] and it is of interest to us because the Z pinch and planar discharge are the limiting cases corresponding to J.=0 and J.=∞.
