Arbitrary order operations on trees,earches, and deletes on most forms of balanced and unbalanced binary trees. We show that this new algorithm, . is correct and produces execution schedules which are at least as parallel as other techniques including locking and graph coloring based interference. We also show some estimate of the performance on a sample computation, AVL trees.

Program transformation for locality using affinity regions,ship between affinity regions and global optimization for parallelism and locality. The algorithms in this paper are being implemented in the parallelization tool, PAT, targeted at generating of affinity regions for the KSR-1.

On automatic data structure selection and code generation for sparse computations, every dense matrix that in fact is sparse, the original code is adapted to operate on these data structures. This simplifies the task of the programmer and, in general, enables the compiler to apply more optimizations.
