The Future of Formal Thought Research: The Study of Analogy and Metaphorxample, Brainerd, 1975; Bynum, Thomas, & Weitz, 1972; Ennis, 1975a,b). Some of the confusion in this area may be attributed to misinterpretations of the aim of Piaget’s structuralism: to study children and adolescents not so much as logicians, but as scientists who invent and construct their own understandings (Falmagne, 1975; Stone, 1976).

Some New Prospects for Neurophysiological Research on Disorders of Perception and Languageigations. We allude to them here because they have provided the motivation for the speculations that form the basis for this contribution and because they readily lead to further thoughts à la Piaget about the nature of space and time concepts and symbolization.

The Function of Reading in the Transition to Concrete and Formal Operationsired in response to concrete-verbal stimuli; then in situations in which these operations are required in reading. The study was exploratory.
