Jewish Charity as Gendered Domain,The Jewish diaspora community cannot be understood as a monolithic and homogenous entity. Instead, it is a community with internal differences along the categories of gender, religiosity, class and the level of community affiliation. Often these categories dynamically intersect.

Ethnography of Jewish Cape Town and Jewish Giving Ideals,ed by a mountain range. This is where black and . South Africans were banished to, from 1950s onwards and then as part of the Group Areas Act in 1957. Following apartheid’s spatial segregation, they were not allowed to live in the city anymore and needed a pass allowing them to travel to work.
