Articulating Metal Interfaces for Total Hip Prostheses a runningin period of 2 years. Reasons for revisions were unrelated to the metal-metal pairing, e.g., cemented titanium stems can no longer be recommended in comparison to CrCoMo cemented stems. Acceptance of Metasul pairing is increasing in Europe.

Methods to Reduce the Wear of Ultrahigh-Molecular-Weight Polyethylenen comparison with wear factor of nontreated UHMWPE, that of improved UHMWPE was decreased. These results suggested that wear-resistant properties of UHMWPE were improved markedly by the unique alignment of the molecules in the crystalline phase.
