Structure of weakly bound complexes from electronic spectra,raction and hydrogen bonding are particularly important in biological systems. They stabilize and determine the structure of large biomolecules. Thus the understanding of weak intermolecular interactions on a microscopic level will greatly increase our fundamental understanding of chemical and biological processes.

Jet spectra of aromatic molecules in hydrogen bonded microsolvent clusters, importance is the ability to measure mass-selective spectra of H-bonded complexes of increasing size, and increase the microsolvent surrounding in a stepwise manner up to a complete solvent ‘shell’, while concurrently monitoring the spectroscopic effects on electronic and vibrational transitions.
