Supercomputing for Plasma MHD Simulations,y, it is demonstrated that some important arid very complicated problems can be solved by the supercomputing with the algorithms pertinently designed; in particular, catastrophic events, such as solar flares and geomagnetic substorms, are studied.

Vectorization of Lanczos Algorithms on Supercomputer SX System,) algorithms are applied to compute a few outer eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices which are obtained by a discretization of a Laplace equation. We found that the Lanczos algorithm with full reorthogonalization is suitable for vector machine and to be one of the powerful algorithms for large matrix eigenvalue problems.

Use of Multicolor Vectorization of Incomplete LU Preconditioning for the Wilson Fermion on the Lattion parameter, the total computing time may be smaller due to computational advantages. The multicolor vectorization is preferable, if the computing time for one iteration is smaller than that of the hyperplane vectorization by a factor of two or more.
