The Chemical Nature of Isoenzymes,mounts of neuraminic (sialic) acid, and hence differ in their electric charges and electrophoretic mobilities. The polymorphism of certain cholinesterases seems to be due to polymerization, while conformational differences and association with different carrier proteins have been suggested to account for other groups of isoenzymes.
