General Features of the Ion Beam Induced Luminescence in Amorphous Silicailica will be also answered in this chapter. The first question is the origin of the blue band, as there is a controversy in the literature when dealing with this problem. Some results of IL in silica at low temperature are reported in Sect. . to help clarifying this controversy.

Conclusions and Prospects for the Future (such as the implantation beamline at CMAM); or even in other accelerator facilities, such as the JANNuS-Saclay platform (see Appendix A). This development of the technique has allowed for carrying out new IL experiments under various irradiation conditions, and it will allow to use ionoluminescence as a common tool to characterize materials.
