Present status of the generalized Marchenko method for the solution of the inverse scattering problThe present status of the generalized Marchenko method for the solution of the inverse scattering problem of the Schrödinger equation in three dimensions is summarized. Gaps and errors in previous publications are filled and corrected, and a new connection between the scattering amplitude and the number of bound-state eigenvalues is pointed out.

A finite difference method for the inverse scattering problem at fixed frequency,ulting bilinear system can be solved recursively for f and u. We study the stability of this recursion. We find that the method enjoyes some stability properties provided hκ is chosen properly. The complexity of the method is O(h.).
