Some Factors Effecting Left-turn Capacity and Delay at Unsignalized Intersections, model is analysed as a stochastic process. As a result of mathematical analysis, an expression of the cumulative probability of accepting time gaps has been calculated. Furthermore, the effect of pedestrians on left-turn capacity is discussed.

Status of Unsignalized Intersection Capacity Research in the United States,The most recent edition of the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), was published in the United States in the fall of 1985. This publication (Special Report 209; Transportation Research Board; National Research Council) included a new technique for analyzing the capacity and level of service at unsignalized intersections.

Research on Unsignalized Intersections with Impact on the Czechoslovak Design Standard,In the 1970s research into the capacity of the uncontrolled junction was carried out with the aim to find out a suitable method of capacity calculation applicable to the Czechoslovak standard ON 73 6102. Theoretically, the applied method was based on Harder’s principles and our knowledge gained from the investigation of critical gaps.
