Overlapping Community Detection in Weighted Graphs: Matrix Factorization Approachstic model of overlapping community structure in weighted graphs. The resulting algorithm boils down to generalized matrix factorization with non-quadratic loss function. The comparison with the other methods shows that the proposed algorithm outperforms modern analogues.

Parametric Shape Descriptor Based on a Scalable Boundary-Skeleton Modelthe vertices. The estimations are calculated with use of a boundary-skeleton shape models family generated by the polygonal figure. On a Metric Kemeny’s Mediane similar to the Kemeny’s median. The mathematically correct Kemeny’s median needs to be seen as the center in its distances to other elements. A new procedure is developed to build the modified loss matrix and find the metric Kemeny’s median.

Recognition of Herpes Viruses on the Basis of a New Metric for Protein Sequenceshow, that the metric properties allow to improve the classification quality. In addition, in this paper, we adduce an updated computational scheme for the proposed metric, which allows to speed up the comparison of proteins.
