Fusion of Nonlinear Inertia Weight and Probability Mutation for Binary Particle Swarm Optimization Ang inertia weight update strategy and a local probability crossover mutation strategy, IBPSO effectively enhances algorithm performance while overcoming the limitations of conventional approaches. The proposed algorithm demonstrates superior performance through testing on benchmark functions.

Floorplanning of VLSI by Mixed-Variable Optimizationh and without fixed-outline constraint. Numerical experiments on GSRC test circuits show that the proposed algorithms are superior to some celebrated B*-tree based floorplanning algorithms, and are expected to be applied to large-scale floorplanning problems due to their low time complexity.

A Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm with Dynamic Population Synergyis paper compares the proposed algorithm with five state-of-the-art PSO variants on the CEC2022 test function to investigate the algorithm’s effectiveness. The experimental results show that DPSPSO can achieve competitive performance compared to the other PSO variants.
