X-Ray Methods,atomic level. Using XRD measurements one can determine the crystal structure (interatomic distances, bond angles, planarity of a particular group of atoms and angles between planes) and perform a quantitative chemical analysis (speciation) as well.

Electroanalytical Techniques for Pollutant Analysis,ies and properties can be considered encompassing the nonspecific characterization of a bulk solution parameter (e.g. conductivity) to the quantification of a discrete species (e.g. O. or S.) in solution. Included within this range is the measurement of pH using a glass electrode, probably the most commonly utilized of all analytical techniques.
