描述.ITiB’2018 is the 6th Conference on Information Technology in Biomedicine, hosted every two years by the Department of Informatics & Medical Devices, Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Silesian University of Technology. The Conference is organized under the auspices of the Committee on Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The meeting has become an established event that helps to address the demand for fast and reliable technologies capable of processing data and delivering results in a user-friendly, timely and mobile manner. Many of these areas are recognized as research and development frontiers in employing new technology in the clinical setting. Technological assistance can be found in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation alike. Homecare support for any type of disability may improve standard of living and make people’s lives safer and more comfortable. .The book includes the following sections: .Ø  Image Processing  .Ø  Multimodal Imaging and Computer-aided Surgery .Ø  Computer-aided Diagnosis .Ø  Signal Processing and Medical Devices .Ø  Bioinformatics .Ø  Modelling & Simulation .Ø  Analytics in Action on the SAS Platfor

Preliminary Development of an Automatic Breast Tumour Segmentation Algorithm from Ultrasound Volumetl precise segmentation performed by an active contour approach. The method has been evaluated using 16 volumes acquired from a breast phantom containing nodules. The obtained results reached up to 94.68% sensitivity, 100.00% specificity, 92.63% Dice index, 99.95% Accuracy, 92.61% Cohen’s Kappa index and 86.28% Jaccard index.

Segmentation of Three-Dimensional Images of the Butterfly Wing Surfacehich were compared with the calculations made using the script. This stereometric analysis proves to be an effective method that can be successfully used for estimation of micro- and nano- topography by processing of stereometric data.

Rigid and Non-rigid Registration Algorithm Evaluation in MRI for Breast Cancer Therapy Monitoringmation allows for successful co-registration of both image sets. Our results were evaluated visually, and the MI indices were calculated. These algorithms allowed for image co-registration in different imaging sessions during the course of treatment.

Preliminary Study of Modeling Sagging Breasts for Support Navigation in Ultrasound Guided Biopsyion Error to fit the fragile, flat, mutual surface areas and match markers in the Time of Flight image to the positions indicated in the tracker coordinate system of 12, 6.9, 5.8 and 15 mm respectively. A current challenge in breast biopsy is the changing position of the needle tip between biopsies.

A Brief Review for Content-Based Microorganism Image Analysis Using Classical and Deep Neural Networ beings. To this end, effective . (CBMIA) approaches using . (ANNs) are introduced to microbiological fields from the 1990s. In order to clarify the development history and find the developing trend of ANNs in the CBMIA field, we briefly survey around 60 related works in this paper, including classical ANNs, deep ANNs and methodology analysis.
