Subdomain Bounding Technique for Shakedown Analysis of Structures, the original structure can be obtained from similar load factors for each of the substructures. The Melan’s theorem and hybrid stress finite element are used in the programming formulaton and numerical discretization. An elastic-perfectly plastic material is considered here. Numerical applications illustrate the validity of the present technique.

Analysis of Masonry Structures Subject to Variable Loads: A Numerical Approach Based on Damage Mechble (plastic) part and a recoverable part. Reversible strains are related to damage, whose effects are quantified by updating the material stiffness matrix. The model has been checked by comparing numerical results and test data concerned with masonry walls (with and without openings) subjected to plane stress states.

The obtained solution is proved to be exact.
