Lagrangian Relaxation for Flow Shop Scheduling,or the problem of minimizing the makespan. By decomposing the model into unlinked one-machine sequencings without due dates, Lagrangian relaxation introduces subproblems amenable to the greedy algorithm. Moreover, since the subproblems do not have the integrality property, the Lagrangian bound can be stronger than the LP bound.

A Heuristic for Vehicle Routing and Manpower Planning,is a requirement for the money to be deposited at banks along the route. Consequently the more traditional routing and scheduling methodologies and software are not easily applied to the problem. This paper details the approach used and highlights some of the good points and the pitfalls in the proposed solution.

A Study of the Space Shuttle Scheduling Problem,cedence for such activity in space. The program continues to grow, in size and complexity, thus increases the need for better planning and scheduling capabilities. The use of such tools will assist in making engineering and management decisions while easing pressures on the whole system.
