描述.This practically oriented book illustrates and reviews the imaging appearances of the common and unusual complications that may occur after upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), colonoscopy, polypectomy, stricture dilatation, and stent placement..Detailed attention is devoted to the assessment of complications after percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) positioning, the issues associated with video capsule retention after small bowel capsule endoscopy, and iatrogenic colonic perforations in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. A dedicated chapter explains the expanding role and possibilities of interventional radiology in the treatment of such complications. .The pivotal role of multidetector computed tomography (CT) in the detection and grading of endoscopy-specific iatrogenic complications is highlighted. In addition, normal imaging appearances are presented for comparison and information is provided on such aspects as the mechanisms of complications, patient- and procedure-related risk factors, clinical features, and treatment options according to established guidelines..The book will be invaluable in enabling gastroe

Imaging Techniques, Expected and Reactive Appearances After Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatous intraprocedural events, physical signs or laboratory abnormalities. This chapter aims to provide an increased familiarity with interpretation of early post-ERCP CT studies. Multiplanar and maximum-intensity projection CT reformations reliably visualise plastic and metallic biliary stents and rela

Imaging Findings of Complications After Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and Bin..This chapter reviews with several imaging examples the commonest complications occurring after ERCP with or without biliary stenting. Knowledge of procedural details, an appropriate CT acquisition technique and familiarity with normal and abnormal imaging appearances are needed to diagnose and gr

Imaging Techniques and Expected Post-colonoscopy Appearancesl thickening and adjacent peritoneal inflammation in absence of perforation, demonstrated by CT imaging after polypectomy with electrocautery. Clinically, PPES closely mimics signs and symptoms of colonic perforation, but is a self-limiting condition which is amenable to a conservative therapy. Radi

Next, I take up some of my own proposals on the subject and go a step further by suggesting that conscious HCOs could be classified as special evolving entities, without being assimilated to other living beings. Based on this proposal, I hypothesize some general
