A new lossless image compression algorithm based on arithmetic coding,ard, and also with FELICS and other lossless compression algorithms. Our tests show that the new algorithm outperforms Lossless JPEG and FELICS leading to a compression improvement of about 12% over Lossless JPEG and 10% over FELICS.

Wavelet transform architectures: A system level review,form allows to use "pyramid" algorithms that optimize latency and processor utilization; on-line solutions try to minimize buffering memory. Such approaches can be substituted with more standard ones, if data reordering is mandatory to apply a good quantization strategy. An upcoming commercial solution offers a sound comparison paradigm.

Image databases are not databases with images,l defined concept, there are many possible types of similarities. In this paper, we consider the problem of simulating human similarity perception. We argue that a satisfactory solution is possible for ., and we present a general and comprehensive geometric similarity model.
