Non-Resonant and Resonant Chaotic Dynamics in Externally Excited Cyclic Systems,r-dimensional Melnikov method and its extensions are utilized to detect the transversal intersection of stable and unstable manifolds of periodic orbits. Such intersections imply the existence of Smale horseshoes and, hence, chaotic dynamics for the averaged system.

Simulation of Non-Gaussian Stochastic Processes with Nonlinear Filters,early non-Gaussian. Since such excitations are described by stochastic differential equations, they can be combined with the governing equations of the excited dynamical systems in analytical investigation, or as a basis for Monte Carlo simulation.

Application of Conditional Linearization in the Study of Nonlinear Systems,e excitations, however, it is not an easy task to arrive at acceptable, approximate solutions. One such typical higher dimensional problem, which has extensive practical implications also, arises in the study of nonlinear SDOF oscillators under a narrow-banded random excitation, often modeled as a filtered white noise process.

Stochastic Stability of Lateral-Torsional Motion of Slender Bridges Under Turbulent Wind,he literature, the turbulence intensity is shown to have a destabilizing effect on the bridge stability in a sense that an increase in the intensity decreases the critical mean wind velocity below the deterministic flutter velocity.
