Degradation of Organosynthetic Pollutantsthem exhibit long-term toxicity. Therefore, the removal of organic pollutants from water and from effluents prior to their disposal or reuse is of special significance. However, wastewater treatment by intensive systems like activated sludge fails in remediation of the organic pollutants (Juanicó 1993).

The Clogging Capacity of Effluentsers at the head of the irrigation network sharply improves the network performance, but the filters themselves may clog so frequently that the costs of manual or automatic backwash are too high (Juanicó et al. 1995). Hence, the performance of the drip irrigation systems is highly dependent on the filterability of the irrigation water.

The raw effluents undergo primary and secondary treatment, after which they are collected starting from September until June and reused for irrigation of industrial crops during the later summer months
