In Vitro Studies of Human Mast Cells,identifiable in electron micrographs by their shape and variable osmiophilia and also because they lack a limiting membrane. Regular substructural internal patterns are absent from lipid bodies. Focal lucent areas and vesicular structures can sometimes be seen within lipid bodies (Fox et al. 1985).

Concluding Remarks,In this review we have discussed aspects of human mast cell biology that have recently been illuminated by morphologic analysis. These findings build on a considerable ultrastructural literature which we also review here in order to present an integrated view of human mast cell ultrastructural morphology.
