Correcting Pipelined ADC Errors,. discussed the impact different impairments in the pipelined stage have on the output residue and on the ADC output. Both DAC and gain mismatch affect the ADC’s linearity, which result in higher-order harmonics, and this chapter touches on both the estimation and correction of such mismatches.

Reference Generation,A switched-capacitor MDAC stage operates by connecting capacitors to a set of reference voltages. This generates the DAC transfer function and the corresponding output residue, and the configuration of this connection is a function of the sub-ADC output. A reference amplifier generates these voltages, and is the focus of this chapter.
