描述High magnetic fields have been an important tool in semiconductor physics for a long time. The area has been growing very rapidly since quantum effects in silicon field-effect transistors have become of practical interest. Since the discovery of the quantum Hall effect by Klaus von Klitzing in 1980, this subject has grown exponentially. The book contains 42 invited papers and 37 contributed papers which were presented at the 7th of the traditional Würzburg conferences. For the area of high magnetic fields applied in semiconductor physics recent results are discussed, and the state-of-the-art is reviewed. More than 50% of the papers concern two-dimensional electronic systems. Other subjects of current interest are magneto-optics and magneto transport in three-dimensional semiconductors. Special attention has been paid to the rapidly growing field of semimagnetic semiconductors.

R. Johnston,L. Schweitzeriety, or more precisely the panic inducers including cholecystokinin. It is also mentioned the theoretical model of Deakin and Graeff which seems to keep all its relevance. The knock animals are evoked as relevant tools as well as a new optogenetic technique that needs to be used in this field.

Frequency- and Temperature-Dependent Conductivity in the Quantum Hall System In the disordered insulator, a system similar to the quantum Hall system, temperature and frequency are the most interesting variables, and the verification of the well-known predictions of Mott bear out our overall picture of the physics of these systems.

Ground-State Energy of Two-Dimensional Electron Solids in High Magnetic Fieldss been studied. Many-body techniques have been employed under the assumption that the expectation values of the guiding center coordinates of the cyclotron motion of the electrons form a two-dimensional quantum solid.

Scaling of the Integral Quantum Hall EffectA review is given of recent experiments testing the two-parameter scaling theory of the integral quantum Hall effect. The temperature driven flow diagram in the σ.(T) vs. σ.(T) of the two-dimensional electrons in InGaAs-InP, measured from 10K to 50mk, shows scaling behavior and is consistent with the theory.
