Sex in the School: Adolescent Sexuality, Sexual Space and Sex Education in Marzipan,nal sex education policies and practices in Hungarian schools. Rédai problematizes sex education in Marzipan from a methodological perspective and argues that sex education can reproduce social inequalities by addressing only specific issues of sexuality and students with specific subjectivities.

Constituting Gender Dichotomies Through Discourses of Sexual Pleasure, on themselves to achieve more sexual pleasure and power. At the same time, male sexual licence and dominance, and sexual expressions of hegemonic masculinity are left unquestioned, which, as Rédai argues, contributes to restricting girls’ sexual agency and empowerment and to reinforcing gendered dichotomies based on sexuality.

Constituting Ethnicity Through Discourses of Virginity and Marriage, virginity and marriage. She reflects on how neoliberal/postfeminist discourses on women’s choice and sexual agency influence her Gypsy respondents’ discourses and practices of ‘trading’ their virginity to ‘the right boy’ at the chosen time.

Conclusions: Sexuality, Schooling, and the Present and Future of Gender and Education Research in Hn of her fieldwork, reflects on the limitations of the study, and suggests new directions for research. She finishes with a short discussion of the ‘war on gender’ by the current government and how it affects educational policies and the future of gender studies in Hungary.
