Client server computing on message passing systems: Experiences with PVM-RPC, and scientific algorithms, and furthermore, that the RPC layer introduces little if any performance overhead into message passing systems. Furthermore, support for simple versions of useful features such as transparent failure resilience and automatic load balancing are facilitated in this model.

Interconnecting multiple heterogeneous parallel application components, the primitives used to interconnect the application components and its internal architecture and we compare PHIS to related systems. Finally, we present an application where PHIS is used to interconnect several distinct components that define a parallel heterogeneous computational steering architecture for genetic algorithm applications.

Load balancing based on process migration for MPI,at uses an existing process migration component to construct an automatic load balancing system for MPI applications. Both the load indices and the heuristics consider load that is imposed on the system due to other users activity. For a computational fluid dynamics application performance improvements between 10% and 54% could be achieved.

Theoriebildung in der Gruppenanalysee experimental results, conducted on a 256 nodes bi-dimensional torus, show that this algorithm reaches a very high level of performance, around 90% of the optimal bound, and is more efficient than other algorithms presented in the literature.
