Synthesis of Enantiomerically Pure Unnatural Compounds Via Non-Biomimetic Homoaldol Reactions-alkanones. After exchange of the cation by titanium or aluminium reagents, the addition proceeds with high. or . diastereoselectivity. Altogether, the new reagents provide the first more general method for stereocontrolled homoaldol reactions. A report on asymmetric homoaldol reactions, including results of several research groups, is also given.

Synthesis of Chirally Labelled Substrates Using Enzymes acid. The latter compounds have been used to study the stereochemistry of some enzyme catalysed reactions. The enzymes glutamate pyruvate transaminase and β-methylaspartase have also been used synthetically in these studies.
