描述.Emerging Electromagnetic Medicine. presents the latest research findings in the field of electromagnetic radiation. The book discusses the research of current active researchers in terms of synthesizing and sharing their ideas on the use of electromagnetic fields in diagnostic and therapeutic medicine, now and in the future, including the benefits and risks involved. The book consists of three parts prefaced by a brief historic perspective. Section I describes the theoretical concerns and actual mechanisms involved; Section II covers current preclinical studies, performed in vivo and in vitro, concerning the biological action of the electromagnetic radiation; and Section III reports on actual clinical applications of electromagnetic therapy and also the current machinery used to do so.

Low Frequency Electromagnetic Energy: Its Emergence as a Medical Treatment times 25 years, and find references in history to the use of, or the study of, electric or magnetic fields applied to various organs or parts of the human body. In many ways, this long history of use, or abuse, has been a factor in preventing widespread application of low frequency EMF energy in th

Electroporation: A New Phenomenon to Consider in Medical Technologyary form, electroporation is the occurrence of a significant size and number of transient pores in cell membranes because of an elevated transmembrane potential .. Several reversible and irreversible phenomena are now believed to be a consequence of these pores, but whether reversible or irreversibl

Metabolic Spectroscopy for Monitoring Electromagnetic Medical Techniquesomogeneous deposition of energy in tissues and, therefore, affect tissue metabolism heterogeneously. Optical spectroscopy provides unique approaches to monitoring tissue metabolic status during medical treatment. Methods are being developed that provide both area and depth resolved metabolic measure

EMR and the Brain: A Brief Literature Reviews well as history, tells us that early man recognized that he had no control over lighting and that magnetic mineral ore, lodestone, did not appear to have any biological effect. However, contact with the fish, . which inhabits the Mediterranean, could produce shocking results when in contact with t

Developments for Stimulation and Analysis of Nerve Regeneration drugs, etc) and electrical [direct current (DC) and pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF)] applications have proven fairly successful. In this report we describe experiments using noninvasive PEMF on a crush nerve model showing that the results obtained with this technique are equal to results obtai
