A Spin Fluctuation Theory of Itinerant-Electron Systems — The Single-Site Approximationetic moment, the Fermi surface and the cohesive energy of transition metals. Despite its great success, however, the band theory cannot account for physical phenomena such as the Curie-Weiss susceptibility, the persistence of local moments above the Curie temperature and the large magnetic entropy.

Stoner and Kondo Spin Glassesson model impurities, each with a finite Kondo or spin fluctuation temperature, coupled by indirect exchange. The results are consistent with a picture in which the Kondo and spin glass interactions compete, leading to the existence of a finite concentration threshold for T = 0 spin glass behavior.
