描述.This book addresses increasingly relevant social problems enabled by social media through the lens of system science research and modeling. Instead of evaluating existing patterns from existing social media data, the book focuses on exploring the possibility of various policies. Specifically, it provides fresh insight into the political echo chamber and polarization in social media using agent-based modeling and scenario analysis..  The book contains a practical framework to study the factors influencing echo chambers and polarization formation occurring in social media communication. By modeling individual social media users‘ information consumption, the influence of various behaviors and policies are captured as macro-phenomena. The book also introduces a comprehensive agent-based reinterpretation of the Zaller model, a classic in public opinion research. In addition, the book demonstrates two real-life applications of the model using empirical observations: resolving theconflicting observations of the online echo chamber effect, and modeling the influence of vaccine-related Facebook pages on users’ opinions about vaccination..

Methodology,M is one class of computational model to simulate individual agents’ actions and their interaction. It is also known as individual-based modeling in some research field because the modeling focus revolves around the behavior of individual agents. Research fields that commonly use ABM include biology

Application 2: Simulating the Influence of Facebook Pages on Individual Attitudes Toward Vaccination of some diseases such as the smallpox. The World Health Organization (WHO) also estimated that vaccination has prevented two million child deaths in 2003 alone. One reason why vaccination is very effective is because of its mass adoption resulting in herd immunity.

Conclusions and Future Works, Based on the simulation, we find out that the convergence parameter is not the only factor determining the shape of opinion distribution. Contrary to most of the bounded-confidence model variations, the convergence parameter also influences the final distribution of the opinion.

Simulating Echo Chamber and Polarization Problems in Social Media, for opinion and group formation as the main interest of many researches. However, most social media are not used for personal one-to-one interaction but instead one-to-many such as for news sharing or status updates in Twitter and Facebook.
