An attempt at modelling suspended sediment concentration after storm events in an Alpine torrent,d in all cases as “very good” or better, only 3 out of 6 events show a “good” rating for the sediment graphs. The problem of modelling suspended sediment concentration in small, inhomogeneous watersheds is emphasized.

Bedload transport and discharge in the Erlenbach stream,e number of hydrophone impulses per minute varies considerably for a given flow rate, which seems to be characteristic for the pulsing nature of bedload transport. A seasonal variation is observed for both the threshold discharge for the beginning of transport and for the transported sediment volume.

The influence of channel steps on coarse bed load transport in mountain torrents: case study using ical results lead to the conclusion that particle transport is clearly controlled by local channel slope changes and that these are of fundamental importance in the transport of coarse bed load material.

Investigations of slope erosion in the Northern Limestone Alps,e Kesselbach shows a clear predominance of the latter. The solids are eroded in the cuts of the V-shaped valleys. Thus, there is present-day intensive further formation of these valleys, which dominate the scenery.
