There is also agrowing interest in global climate fluctuations. This, and the needfor a precise assessment of the dynamics of carbon and otherbio-elements, has led to a demand for an improved understanding ofbiogeochemical processes and the chemical characteristics of bothparticulate and dissolved organic matter in the ocean. .A large amount of proxy data has been published describing the changesof the oceanic environment, but qualitative and quantitative estimatesof the vertical flux of (proxy) organic compounds have not been welldocumented. There is thus an urgent need to pursue this line of studyand, to this end, this book starts with several papers dealing withthe primary production of organic matter in the upper ocean.Thereafter, the book goes on to follow the flux and characterizationof particulate organic matter, discussed in relation to the primaryproduction in | 出版日期 | Book 2000 | 关键词 | Aerosol; Coast; Greenhouse gas; Ocean; Oxide; Pacific Ocean; Snow; algae; environment; geochemistry; marine; ph | 版次 | 1 | doi | https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-017-1319-1 | isbn_softcover | 978-90-481-5451-7 | isbn_ebook | 978-94-017-1319-1Series ISSN 1568-1025 | issn_series | 1568-1025 | copyright | Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2000 |
