Dynamic Stiffness,ted by means of dynamic substructure methods, dynamic stiffnesses result. We shall extend the formulation of Chap. 2 to include follower forces, parametrically excited axial forces, in-plane moments and response analysis. A general formulation will be given in Chap. 5 where curved members will be considered.

Finite Elements and Continuum Elements, dynamic stiffness matrix with respect to the frequency. We then relate finite elements and continuum elements by means of Simpson’s hypothesis. Therefore, many useful frequency algorithms for the finite element method are made available to the continuum element model.
