Animal Experiments,ved 2000 rads of X-irradiation (85 kVp, 5 mA) to one eye at 5 weeks of age. Matsuda, Giblin, and Reddy, in 1981, previously demonstrated that the X-irradiated lens develop posterior subcapsular opacification 3 weeks after irradiation and a mature cataract 5–6 weeks later.
