The interaction between alcohol and other forms of drug takingtries. We review evidence about recent patterns of drug abuse amongst young adults, examine the overlap that exists between the use of alcohol and other drugs and consider the social policy implications posed by the arrival of a profusion of new drugs in a society where alcohol continues to be the major problem drug.
