Interrupting Snapshots and the Java, Size() Methodorithm is to allow snapshot scans to interrupt each other until they agree on a shared linearization point with respect to updates, rather than trying, as was done in the past, to have them coordinate the collecting of a shared global view. As we show, the new algorithm scales well, significantly outperforming existing implementations.

The , Adaptive Universal Constructionsficantly reduces the size of the required registers and it is therefore practical in many cases. The last two algorithms work efficiently for large objects improving previous universal constructions for large objects presented by Anderson and Moir (PODC 1995).
