The Dissociative Recombination of N 2 +mosphere, .N receives insufficient energy for escape.. This mechanism may explain why the Viking missions to Mars found .N/.N to be 1.6 times greater than the value at Earth.. (Escape of N by DR of N. is not energetically possible at Earth.) DR of N. may also contribute to .N/.N isotope enrichment at Titan..

Studies of Electron Collisions with CN+, CN− and HCN+/HNC+urements exhibit differences and the process is found to be overwhelmingly more efficient for HCN. than that for HNC.. Electrons were also scattered on CN. (X.∑., v=0, 1) target ions. Pure detachment is found to dominate over fragmentation channels. The cross section curve rises from threshold near 7 eV, up to a plateau.
