描述.This book challenges the prevailing notion of stability, cohesiveness, and uniformity within Christian communities, inviting readers to view contestation and disagreement as integral to theological reflection and church identity. While the volume focuses predominantly on the Roman Catholic Church as a case study, various chapters broaden the exploration across other Christian and non-Christian traditions. Beginning with the philosophical and theological foundations of conflict, contestation, and community, the book subsequently focuses on four main conflict fields: liturgy, canon law, gender, and sexuality, as well as race and postcolonial critical theory. The book finishes with a constructive proposal on how to think theologically about identity and antagonisms, as well as how to construct an ecclesiology of dissent. Contributors employ diverse methodological perspectives to offer constructive theological reflections, enhancing both understanding and practice of theology in the context of polarised public debates..This is an open access book..

Theological Perspectives of Conflict, Contestation and Community Formation from an Ecumenical Anglesus not rather seem like a pipe dream that further broadens the gap between aspirations and reality? Is ecumenism just a utopian attempt to ‘uncrack’ the egg that has got broken more and more by each new church division? Or is there more to dissent, to conflict and contestation from a theological an

A Radical Theology of Conflict and Contestationtity, difference. Hence, the identity of the one theology, the one Christian revelation, the one history of Christianity, is contested at its root. That is not meant to demolish Christian theology but to show that it is not identical with itself. This project is undertaken not from a love of chaos a

An Inventory from the Perspective ofts and dissent within the communion, and it also uses legal means to try to prevent deviations that endanger the community and the faith. These canonical regulations convey the self-understanding of the Catholic Church and therefore the theology of the legislator, especially its ecclesiology. The ar

The Secularism Paradox of Interreligious Relations and International Relationsparation of religion and politics remains well suited to address conflict resolution in a postcolonial world of multicultural nation-states. This draws attention to a paradox of secularism, which shows how false assumptions grounded in post-Reformation Europe preserve a power dynamic between Christi
