Intensity Modulation Direct Detection High-Speed Fiber Access System,rnet of Things, computing centers, etc., the short-distance communication, bandwidth requirements of access networks and metropolitan area networks are driven, and transmission capacity requirements reach 400 Gb/s even up to 1 Tb/s. Transmission distances also range from a few kilometers to tens of kilometers.

High-Speed Fiber Access System Based on Direct Detection of I/Q Modulation,simple in structure, low in cost, and convenient in implementation. It is indeed a promising technology in short-distance fiber access systems. However, the left and right sidebands produced by this technique carry the same signal and do not fully utilize the full effective bandwidth around an optical carrier.

On the one hand, high spectral efficiency optical transmission can be achieved by advanced modulation formats. However, due to the high SNR requirement, the transmission distance for advanced modulation formats is very limited.
