Die Analyse von Kationen nach der Abtrennung durch Ionenaustauscher,n beschrieben. Zur gesamten Aufschlüsselung der Analysenbestandteile sind mehrere Trennstufen mit Kationen- und Anionenaustauschern notwendig. Das Verfahren ist dadurch schwerfällig und zeitraubend und hat wohl deshalb keinen breiten Eingang in die Silikatanalyse gefunden.
